Opening in Cinema Paris was a great success!

And there is no doubt Rados Bajic is a megastar within Serbian community!

Two days before the opening night, the cinema of 200 seats (90 gratis and 110 sold) was completely sold out. Accordingly we opened a second cinema with 170 people and were informed by Hoyts that all seats were sold out one hour before opening! There is no doubt there is a large number of people who are not on our official guest lists, but are prepared to pay to become the part of opening night festivities.

The cocktail party in cinema foyer was also a success. Deputy Consul General of Serbia was the host and they provided the finger food for the cocktail party.

The only thing that was not scheduled precisely is that it took Rados Bajic so long to walk the red carpet and join the cocktail party. People wanted photos with him, they hugged and they kissed him!

The VIP list was impressive and we had His Grace Bishop Iriney and Jasmina Pekmezovic, Deputy Consul General of Serbia attending. Also I think it was the first time we have had Consul General of Russia, Vice Consul of USA and Cultural Attache from China attending the festival opening. There were also consuls from Greece and India, dignitaries from Department of Immigration, Department of Education, Office of Lord Mayor etc.

We all kindly invite all film fans and in particular Serbian people to get on the phone and talk to their friends and relatives and invite them to come and see the movies at the festival.

This year’s festival has proven to be an extraordinary event with fantastic selection of movies and we are sure you will enjoy it very much! At the same time, it is very nice way to promote Serbian culture and community as a whole.
