The Serbian “Kolo” society from Perth has organised another successful event in Hamersley Community Centre. Featured in the evenings program, apart from the “Kolo” folklor group, were also folklor ensemble “Holy Trinity” from Perth and the younger generation of dancers from Rockingham. Guests were entertained by musical ensemble “Skadarlija”.

Money raised at the event went towards covering costs of sending “Kolo” to the Serbian Folklor Festival in Sydney in August this year. However, under the initiative of “Kolo’s” director Olivera Zimonjic-Stock, part proceeds from ticket sales, as well as those from the conducted auction and collected donations will be allocated as financial support for the improvement of living and working conditions of special needs youth in Krusevac.

“Kolo’s” donation in it’s total amount of $1,440 has already been delivered and will be used to help fund a project aimed at creating new work opportunities for special needs children in Krusevac. This project will see the construction of a greenhouse which will produce herbs and healing plants and employ youth with disabilities.
